No matter what Mother’s Day brings up for you (for me, it’s waves of intense sadness, grief, joy, gratitude, and love) every single human on earth has a connection to a “mother.”

I lost my mom 8 years ago, and some days I still pick up my phone to call her and ask a question about the kids…. :( I feel the waves of grief crashing in…and although time doesn’t heal all wounds it DOES build resilience and strength in being able to swim through some waves and let go and ride over others. I wrote a blog post about it 2 yrs ago that expands on my grieving journey.

You are the fruit of multiple generations of women before you…the egg that created you was formed inside your mother while she was in your grandmother’s womb (female fetuses are born with their entire lifetime of eggs inside of them).

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” || Psalms 139:13

It comforts me to know that even though my mother never met 3 of my 4 babies… she held all of my children inside of her womb before I did.

As always, do what you can in the season you’re in. The most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received cost nothing – a hug, a handwritten card, or a dirty handful of fresh flowers from the yard. ❤️‍
